HALO 2 Master Chief Armor: Arms
The shoulder area of the upper arm looks complicated but actually came together rather easily. Thanks to the posterboard template I was able to cut out the pieces in plastic and, with the heat gun, folded it into shape.
A bit of sanding, some detail plates and the shoulder is done! The part that wraps around the upper arm (that this is attached to) was made by wrapping heated plastic around a large tube. I slit it on the inside for comfort.
The forearms were made in a similar fashion with heated plastic over a tube. Since the forearms taper at the wrist, it took some additional heating and forming to get it into shape. A second detail layer of plastic was heat formed and then glued over the first, making this a really SOLID piece of armor. Once again this was slit in the inside to allow my hand to pass through.

and the parts with their base coat of green.
The plate on the back of the hand was made by slightly heat bending and then laminating two pieces of plastic.
To attach it, I used two straps of elastic...
...to fit across palm and wrist. The glove is a black cotton work glove (Fry's Supermarket 49¢!!)
A test fit of all the completed parts together.
