The last thing to do was to stain and shellac the stock. Here are the final photos of this exhausting project!

This gun can be disassembled just like the real one...nothing is glued that shouldn't be. Eventually I will buy brass for the magazine and cast plastic bullets to fill the magazine.

That is apsolutley amazing man. Never have i seen such good work on a scratch built ww2 weapon. I myself have been trying to get plans to make a m1a1 thompson smg and i was wondering were u got all the diagrams of the parts needed for your ppsh?
ReplyDeleteI found the actual machinist's diagrams posted on the web. They gave me precise specs for most of the parts and I was able to reverse-engineer the rest based on photos!
ReplyDeleteDude, do you know how many people would love you if you could make an airsoft version to sell? I know I'd love to see a PPsh-41 airsoft gun!
ReplyDeleteThats looks great! I just bought a Hungarian PPSH kit and now just trying to think if I want a dummy or a semi gun.
ReplyDelete$86 is great for a dummy gun, thats half the price of a good kit.
Ohh thats tight man.
ReplyDeleteLike the youre Shpagin smg.
Dude can you give the plans from which you built that,
Ive noticed that the thing that cover the barel is kindy sqare but the corners should be more round suggest you to take a sandpaper and make the corners a bit more round, and paint it in a more darker paint like black metalic or something like that and i didnt see did you put a factory number on it?
Blindsquirrel..You are the MAN.
ReplyDeleteYour work is of the very highest quality and you deserve all the praise you are getting and more.
After seeing your fantastic scratchbuilt PPSH-41 I was inspired to build my own scratchbuilt weapon.
I opted for the MG42 and if it turns ot half as good as th PPSH-41I will be a very happy man.
It is about 3/4 built but when finished I will post on blogger.
Keep up the great work..Keith
Does it shoot automatic fire?
ReplyDeleteThis model doesn't fire ANYTHING. All the movements of the original have been duplicated, however.
